Giving back is an important part of life. It’s important to remember that there is always someone, or something in need. Après Events is an amazing event photography company that is definitely doing their part to give back to the community. However, their way of doing so may catch you by surprise.
First, let me give you a little backstory on Après Events. They are a highly skilled team of photographers and videographers based out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. They are well known for providing quality services and also for making special occasions such as weddings as remarkable as can be.
Their time is valuable and that along with a few other important details is the reason why what you’re about to learn is so special.
A local shelter in Wyoming was facing overcrowding. They were housing so many animals that they were nearly out of room. The Animal Adoption Center in Jackson needed help and they needed it fast. That’s when the idea came about to showcase the animals needing a forever home so that the shelter could free up some space for other animals in need while finding those already in the shelter a loving home at the same time.
The best way to showcase animals and get them a lot of exposure is high quality photographs that capture the heart and soul of the animal looking for a home. The Animal Adoption Center needed someone with a lot of talent. Luckily, that’s exactly what they were able to get.
Karissa Akin, a member of the Après Events team, recently donated her time and effort to give back to her community and provide The Animal Adoption Center with the help they desperately needed. She took amazing photos of each of the animals and I must say, there’s no way that you can keep a smile off of your face while looking at them.
Their personalities shine bright in each of the photos. While looking at them it’s hard to avoid the feeling of knowing them for years, even though it’s likely the first time you have set your eyes on them.
Incredibly, this was all done very close to Christmas. This happens to be one of the busiest times of the year for Après Events. Karissa could have been tending to her packed schedule, yet her heart of gold couldn’t let this opportunity pass.
Everything went incredibly. Believe it or not, over twenty animals were photographed and only eight are still in need of a forever home. There’s no other way to describe this than absolutely heartwarming and incredible.
Karissa’s time and effort greatly raised awareness in the community, freed up room for other animals in need, and found loving animals a loving family all at the same time. Since everything worked out better than anyone could have imagined, the Animal Adoption Center decided to ask Karissa to come back again for a Valentine’s day shoot.
Karissa agreed to do the shoot without hesitation. As an animal lover, she was just as determined as the shelter to find the new arrivals, as well as the animals from the previous session a place to call home.
The Valentine’s Day session went just as well, if not better than the last. Many of the animals that had been abandoned, abused, or neglected were brought together with a family that was looking for a new addition. Finally, these animals would get the chance to experience love!
There’s no way to thank Après Events enough for their time. It’s as they say, what comes around goes around, and you’d better believe that this photography company has some great things coming their way.
Simply put, this is an example that we should all live by, It’s not always about ourselves. Sometimes the best feeling in the world comes from helping others. Whether it be a person going through a hard time, or an animal looking for a place to call home, we should all take some time to make a difference in their life.
More people need to understand that you don’t always need a lot of money to offer help. More often than not, the best thing we can offer is our time and compassion. That’s exactly what Karissa used to make a remarkable difference. If we follow her lead, we could make a dramatic positive impact in the number of animals in shelters all around the country.
Thank you, Karissa. You truly are a hero and many animals, new families, the community, and a shelter are more than grateful for your services.
